MARION – Area legislators and
members of the Illinois House Committee on Redistricting will
be in Marion and Carbondale on Saturday, May 5, to gather input
on the Congressional and legislative re-map process. Representatives
from local governments and community organizations will testify
about the anticipated impact the new map will have on their constituencies
and members.
Following two full Committee
hearings – one in Springfield, one in Chicago – a series of subcommittee
hearings have been scheduled in communities throughout Illinois.
