AURORA – Area legislators and
members of the Illinois House Committee on Redistricting will
be in Aurora on Monday, May 7, to gather input on the congressional
and legislative re-map process. Representatives from local governments
and community organizations will testify about the anticipated
impact the new map will have on their constituencies and members.
Following two full Committee
hearings – one in Springfield, one in Chicago – a series of subcommittee
hearings have been scheduled in communities throughout Illinois.

Subcommittee Hearing
WHO: Chairman Lou Lang,
Rep. Connie Howard, Rep. Willie Delgado, Rep. Cynthia
Soto, and Rep. Chuck Jefferson. Confirmed speakers include
Aurora Aldermen Mike Saville and Dave Marquez, Lt. William
Powell of the Aurora Police Dept., Jim Murphy, Aurora
Township Supervisor, Representatives from Aurora Area
Religious Network and Kane County Board Members Mary Richards
and Paul Greviskes.
