CHICAGO – Area legislators
and members of the Illinois House Committee on Redistricting will
be in Chicago on Friday, May 4, to gather input on the Congressional
and legislative re-map process. Representatives from local governments
and community organizations will testify about the anticipated
impact the new map will have on their constituencies and members.

WHO: Illinois State Representatives:
Edward Acevedo(D-2), William Delgado(D-3), Cynthia Soto(D-4),
Susana Mendoza(D-1), John Fritchey(D-33), Richard Bradley(D-20)
and William O’Connor(R-43). A number of community groups
and organizations including the Mexican American Legal
Defense Educational and Fund, United Neighborhood Organization,
and the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute.
