Death
Penalty
I support the death penalty for the most heinous crimes, such as killing a police officer, but only with adequate procedural safeguards to ensure justice. Defendants should have access to competent counsel and to DNA testing to help determine their innocence or guilt. Because of the unique circumstances surrounding each crime sentencing, judges and juries should have both the death penalty and life imprisonment without parole as available options as they determine the appropriate sentence for heinous crimes. |
